Welcome to Chapel Farm, Croyde Chapel Farm is right in the heart of picturesque Croyde village on the stunning North Devon coast. A Devon longhouse, it provides high quality, comfortable accommodation for a large variety of guests. Your hosts, David and Val Learmonth, always offer a warm and friendly welcome, ensuring guests have an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Chapel Farm is a wonderful 16 th century thatched former farmhouse, sympathetically restored to celebrate its grade 2 listed status, while adapting itself to modern needs. The Chapel building stands alongside and dates back to the 13th century, at which time St Helen’s Priory and the Chapel were used by monks. The name comes from St Endelentia, a Celtic saint who established churches at Abbotsholm and Lundy Island. You can enjoy staying in one of the oldest buildings in Croyde, while just across the street is the famous Thatched Barn Inn, renowned world wide for its hospitality. Croyde’s surfing beach is a five minute stroll. We also have a private car park next to the building, so all our guests have access to a parking space there. Broadband wi fi is available to guests throughout the site. |

There are a variety of bedrooms, each with its own cosy charm, where we have carefully preserved the beauty of the building, but enhanced, wherever possible, with high quality modern facilities. We are renowned for the quality and generosity of our breakfasts, as we try to use the best fresh local produce, freshly cooked, as well as vegetarian options. We also hire wetsuits, surfboards and bodyboards in Chapel Farm Shop, so guests get a special discount. Equipment storage, washing and drying are available, so you can enjoy your surfing, clean up and store your gear securely after your activity. See special link for surfers, walkers and cyclists. Chapel Farm is also a wire-free broadband environment, with laptops available for guest use on request. |
Facilities include a large, character dining room, with beamed ceiling and Inglenook fireplace. There is a separate guest lounge, with flat screen TV, DVD, laptop, hifi system, woodburning stove, interesting books, and maps, as well as tea/coffee making facilities. |
The Old Smithy and Chapel Farm Apartment have been created from parts of the Chapel Farm building on Hobbs Hill. Innisfree and Mandalay are two adjacent bungalows closer to the beach, in Leadengate Close, which also have individual gardens. Chapel Farm is home to Croyde's own Aladdin's Cave, in the Chapel Farm Gallery and Giftshop in Cott Lane, at the back of the Chapel Farm building.
